Parents of Kids with ADHD or Executive Function Challenges:

Raising an ADHD Child is Hard—We Make It Easier with Proven Executive Function Strategies

Equipping Parents with Practical Tools to Manage Behaviors and Foster Growth.

What is Pozzi Kidz Academy?

The Pozzi Kidz Academy isn't about changing your child, yelling at them for making mistakes, or punishing them for their ADHD or executive function challenges.

It's about taking a proactive approach and guiding them through their journey.

At Pozzi Kidz Academy, it's not about selling you a book or single course and letting you figure it out along the way.

As much as we don't want to admit it, there isn't an easy fix. It is a process and will continue throughout your child's life.

It's our mission to provide a complete platform to empower parents with science-backed strategies, courses, strategic cues, research, and a group for parents just like you.

So you can go from...

→
Dreading weekends and breaks from school because of behaviors to creating lasting memories and looking forward to extra time together.

→ Worrying about your kid's future to feeling confident in their skills to controlling their emotions, manage impulses, and take others' thoughts and feelings into account.

→ Always pointing out what your child’s doing wrong out of frustration to building their self-confidence and improve your bond.

Pozzi Kidz Academy is designed for parents with children ages 4-12 with or without a diagnosis of ADHD.

Exploring Developmental Lag in Children

Kids with lagging executive function skills may be 2-3 years behind developmentally compared to peers.

Imagine your 7-year-old's executive function skills resembling those of a 4 or 5-year-old.

Knowing this helps you set realistic expectations.

Would you expect a 7-year-old who just started playing basketball to be as good as a 7-year-old who's been practicing for years?

Shades of Concern:  ADHD Medication

Parenting kids with ADHD often falls short with traditional approaches, leading to the reliance on medication as a quick solution. In some extreme cases, it may be necessary.

However, the well-documented side effects and the eventual wear-off of medication pose significant concerns. Loss of appetite, sleep disturbances, depression risk, and potential cardiac complications highlight the drawbacks.

Online forums often echo a familiar pattern when it comes to ADHD medication: initial success followed by eventual wear-off, leaving individuals feeling helpless and trapped in a cycle of constantly testing new medications.

After the medication wears off, children may face struggles with focus, increased impulsivity, and decreased energy levels, impacting their overall well-being.

These ongoing challenges make raising a child with ADHD a complex journey for parents, even with medication.

I'm just like you

Hi, I'm Janie, an SLP of 7 years and mama to a child who also faces these challenges of ADHD.

An SLP can help with the "boss" in your head, known as executive functioning, which is crucial for managing behavior, emotions, problem-solving, planning, organization, and memory.

As a parent, I've been navigating ADHD without realizing it until adulthood, when my profession helped me understand the situation.

Studies have shown that around 3 out of 4 kids who have ADHD got it because someone in their family also has it.

My mission is to support as many families as possible, understanding firsthand the challenges that can arise both at home and in school.
